Baxter robot to help the blind

An ongoing project by researchers at Carnegie Mellon University develops assistive robots with the ultimate goal to help visually impaired people to “navigate” the world.

Baxter might be particularly well-suited for the task because it’s a safe robot for people who are interacting with it through their sense of touch.
